Link four – Our boiler runs cool when it can and only ramps up to higher temperatures when specific loads require it (usually a small percentage of the heating season). Our creative control methods ensure that heat is distributed only to those loads that need it at the time – more energy savings.

Thinking about a new boiler?

If your boiler isn’t running as well as it used to, it may be time to replace it. Although a new boiler can be an expensive investment up front, it will save you money on your utility bill down the road, and make your home more comfortable. Here are some factors to consider:

Energy efficiency: If you have an older boiler, it may only be running at 65% efficiency or less, which means that only 65% of the heat it produces is being transferred to the water that heats your home. With a new boiler operating at 80% to 98.5% efficiency, you’ll see immediate savings on your energy bill.

Modulation: Most new, high-efficiency boilers can match their heat output to your home’s needs by running at a consistent, low level. Older boilers only run at full capacity, so even if it’s a mild BC day, or you’re only heating one area of your home, the system will constantly turn off and on to provide surges of heat. With a new boiler, you get constant, even heat throughout your home, quieter operation, and energy savings.

Steel vs. corrosion-resistant heat exchangers: If your old boiler has a steel heat exchanger, it will eventually be rusted away by the water in the system. New, stainless steel heat exchangers last much longer.
